The need for cold weather wear increases with every week. While the Bears might not be representing Chicago very well, our Local Sounds and Threads are gonna help pick up the extra weight. Below are the highlights of a new crop of product from Saint Alfred, AkinJugrnaut, and Leaders 1354. Flexing Chicago’s guns and showing why we deserve as much respect as any of the other big city.

Back in early September we included Leaders 1354‘s release of a few pieces of fall gear. Now they have rounded out the collection with more t-shirts, crewneck sweaters, and hoodies. There’s also a polo shirt in the new drop. The designs are exceptionally clean and continue to reinforce why they chose the name Leaders. The drop is one of my favorite of the fall so far, with the Diamond crew really catching my eye. The minimalist design evokes a different era and pops on top of either the red or gray. The Diamond design also made the transition to t-shirt where it is just as fitting. Check the ill caps above as well, typical Leader shit.

Other than new Leaders 1354 gear in stock, the store received new Red Wing boots. The Mocc Toe model comes in a darker burgundy-brown leather while the Copper model in brown leather. Both are perfect for traversing the slick Chicago streets and sidewalks in the coming winter, not to mention high-quality construction will make these last for many seasons. All LDRS gear is available online, while the boots require a visit to the store.

This week Jugrnaut moved away from its collaboration with Starter and released two New Era fitted caps. They feature the ‘Power’ logo and come in a grape colorway as well as grey. Both caps are as crisp and clean as any other the brand has released and are sure to go fast. The shop also received new products for Rocksmith, Mishka, and The Hundreds. Wu-Tang teamed with Rocksmith for a run of hats, sporting the infamous “C.R.E.A.M.” acronym as well as the iconic Wu logo, they aren’t something to pass on if you’re a fan of the legendary group. Both drops from The Hundreds and Mishka are well rounded. They are complete with crewneck sweaters, button downs, flannels, sweaters, jackets, hats and beanies. Both represent part of their fall release. You can grab the hats online but you’ll need to head into the store if you’re trying to pick up anything else.

Choosing the products to share with you from Saint Alfred is a challenge every week. This time is no different. With new products from Stussy, Norse Projects, Penfield, SSUR, and GPPR along with 2 new collaboration products; Missoni x Converse Chuck Taylors and Patta x Kangol beanies. Stussy, Norse Projects, and Penfield can help you with your cold weather gear for this fall. Penfield has new vests in stock, a light down reversible jacket (Swag x2), and a Rockford jacket from their Black Bear Label. Stussy brings to you a lightweight jacket for the chills of fall, while Norse Projects prepares you for the wetter times with a waxed Parka. Patta and Kangol collaborated for a wool beanie in both red and blue which looks quality and will no doubt keep your ears warm. To cap off the weeks new dope threads is the Chuck Taylor by Missoni. There are two different models but both draw on traditional woven fabrics for their construction. I cannot choose which one I like more. Head into the store or give them a call to purchase any of the gear.

Akin Chicago had a event for the release of the Nike Lunarglide 3 and recapped the event with some ill photos. Now they’ve teamed with Kinema Group for a dope recap video of their 2 Year Anniversary party featuring Jordan Motorsports. Also Akin North received an order of Dita Sunglasses, a great Japanese alternative to some of the designer shades popular stateside. Check the video below and head to their North branch for the glasses.
