It seems as though fall keeps faking us out. Chicago’s weather is well above the crisp, cool temperature that defines this time of the year. Here in Boston it seemed to have arrived, but tomorrow its looking to jump back up to the low eighties. No matter the crazy fluctuations, I’m going to go ahead and highlight some more of the gear that’s designed for the fall with this week’s Local Threads.

Jugrnaut

Jugrnaut received little in the way of new outerwear and cold weather clothing, but their restock of tees and accessories was impressive this week. FALSE is a clothing collective that does all their work in house, producing various brands/sets of clothing. All of their brands, False, Fallacy of Rome, and Better Off Dead are subsidiaries of the workshop and are now available in the shop. Fallacy of Rome draws on classic architecture and Rome’s violent past for inspiration. Better Off Dead’s new line draws on multiple designer logos, taking YSL, Chanel, and LV and putting their own twisted spin on it. Also available is the new Black Scale line. All are available in-store as well as online.

RSVP Gallery

RSVP Gallery stocks the most exceptionally clean and ill gear in Chicago. Now they’ve gone ahead and assembled a Fall Essentials page with a collection of dope gear, meant to help you pick out the right threads from head to toe. The Comme des Garcon’s Black line is an essential. Throw on some A.P.C.’s and some very clean Common Projects and you’ll look like a grand (and be wearing is as well). Check out the page and if you haven’t seen the shop you should check it as well.

Akin Chicago

Last week AKIN held a release party for the Lunarglide 3. The new shoe received a special design from Chicago artist, Tara D., in celebration of the Chicago Marathon that is being hosted by Bank of America Sunday. Up on their website is a photo recap of the event. There were artists on hand working their magic and plenty of locals putting their best foot forward.

Uprise

Nike Skateboarding’s general release arrived at Uprise this week, with new colors of most of their models. Three in particular caught my eye this week, a Dunk Hi, a Dunk Mid, and a Blazer SB. The Blazers come with a white sole, black suede upper and a red swoosh. They remind me of the Bulls, who we better get to see play or there very well might be riots. The new dunks both feature very clean color selection. The Dunk Mid is unique because it is missing the usual velcro strap, a feature I hope we see more of. Head to the store to grab these, also available at Belmont Army Supply.

Saint Alfred

Saint Alfred‘s supply of Vans always seems to be top notch. This week the shop has 6 new sneakers. It’s hard to choose the illest of them, with the new Nordic Chukka pack and the Snakeskin Mountain edition in blue suede. The classic Clarks Desert Boot is now stocked, with two models for men and one for women. Earlier in the week a vest and some t-shirts arrived from 10.Deep along with some Nike winterized Air Force Ones and Woodside. Chicago’s own The Joneses will be holding an in-store sale on their wares, with three t-shirts for $30 and two for one hats. Select outerwear and shoes are also on sale.

Sir & Madame

The arrival of the Wolverine 1,000 Mile Collection marks yet another dope high-quality made in the USA leather good at Sir & Madame. The leather is from Horween Leather in Chicago and the shoes are crafted in Rockford, Michigan. Every detail down to the eyelets and laces are American made. Support American industry and look extra fly? Sounds good to me. Grab these in store.

The Bassment

The Bassment has been operating for nearly a decade on Ashland Avenue. On October 21st the store will host Mobb Deep along Alchemist and Big Noyd at the Metro. Also featured on the bill are Chicago acts L.E.P. Bogus Boys, YP, King Louie, and among others. Mark your calenders in advance because the night is sure to be a great celebration of Chicago’s rich hip-hop circuit.
