We identified Thelonious Martin as one of the game’s top up and coming producers last summer, and have been working with him since. This January, we started a Thelonious Martin x Closed Sessions project, creating music every week at SoundScape Studios, along with documentary clips and all that. A couple weeks ago Thelonious was playing me music from his New Jersey crew members in the Tastemakers, one of which being Topaz Jones. I told him we needed to get some of his Tastemaker fam on the project, and without hesitation he put together this beat, sent it out to Topaz, and now we have “Rick James”. This is fire.
