We have another Chicago rapper entering the fold… just to tease us before he departs for the East. Rapper Samy.Language represents the Sway Parade, a collective of artists, musicians, and producers. As the former drummer for local Chicago band District Somnium and current band The Cognacs, Samy isn’t a stranger to the music game. However, drumming for a band and spitting hot fire on the mic are two completely different monsters. Luckily, “Bangor,” Samy’s first single off of his upcoming debut, The Skinny Cairo Tape, shows that he has some real talent away from hitting the skins.

Unfortunately, any career in the Chicago hip hop scene will be stalled as Samy will be moving away to New York City next month. To commemorate the launch of his hip hop career and his flying from the nest, a show at Sub-T is scheduled for next week, November 7th, featuring DJ Radius, Minus One, and Light Collector. Tickets will be available at Jugrnaut soon for $8.00 (cash only!) or online.

Listen to “Bangor” and check out the details for Samy.Language’s dual first show/going away party below.
