SLUGS

For the “Respect the Art” video we brought it back home to Chicago. Scheme’s first video “Chicano” represented his home away from home, this one here represents where he was born and raised. Mostly shot in the neighborhood Scheme grew up in, the video is filled with nostalgic images, familiar faces, and iconic Chicago sites.

According to Scheme, the purpose of both the song and the video was to express that, “no matter how you choose to portray your craft, all I ask is that you respect the art.”

This video is special to me because it is my directorial debut with the Warlock, aka Tony Shane, on editing duties. Scheme and I worked on this video for quite some time, and after a lot of bumps on the road, we are happy to finally share this with the you guys. Check it out after the jump…

The Manifesto EP (Remixes by Rashid Hadee)

Also, with the acapellas being released to the public, many producers all over the world took a shot in remixing the entire project (The Manifesto EP). Here we bring to you the remixed version by Rashid Hadee, a fellow artist from my city of Chicago. Rashid Hadee has worked with Little Brother, Psalm One, and has shared production duties with fellow Chicago native Kanye West.
