I spent approximately four months working on these lists. I always make these lists because I’m a huge dork like that and I wanted to see if I could pull off something of this magnitude. I burned every CD I own and went through every top-of-year list I could find. Still, I’m not happy with all of these lists. I’m still finding songs that I missed. Take it for what it is, a list by a guy with too much time on his hands. I’ve always maintained that taste and quality are two different things that have no bearing on one another. Not everything you like is good nor is everything good what you like. Quality is based upon universal rule sets on which art can be judged, these have no bearing on what you may enjoy. The more you experience, the closer your favorites tend to match universal measures of quality, but if they ever were the same, you’d end up just a pretentious douche bag.
