I was a big fan of this Chicago band’s initial release. It was dirty, raw, wore it’s inspiration on its sleeve, essentially some of the best qualities of early punk. Its a winning formula when you can hear talent underneath trying to figure it all out. “Weekend” is the first track off the band’s second full length, Dye It Blonde, and goes a long way to fulfilling the band’s initial promise. “Weekend” is a much cleaner production, but doesn’t change the core sound, just adds some clarity of thought.
