Soul

Soul i-D is an exhibit brought to us by the teams of i-D Magazine and Gucci.  Soul i-D is a compilation book that the i-D crew dreamed up back in February of 2001.  They wanted to show that even in times of hardship for the world, there are still people that are willing to devote time and passion to create things that can impact and beautify the world.  Over the years, i-D has collaborated with so many people and different minds that the book is literally a dream come true for the team.  It shows the diversity and really shares a piece of mind from people of all walks.  The exhibit has already toured in Europe, opened in the U.S. on July 16th and is running until the 30th at Christie’s, Gallery 6.  The show features photos, anecdotes,  and advice from top people in the industry.  The exhibit will have features on photographers Terry Richardson, Juergen Teller, and David LaChapelle, with more work from Yoko Ono, Helmut Lang, Alek Wek, Chris Martin, Bono, and tons more.  It is divided into four chapters:  Family Future Positive – what are our support systems in this first decade of the 21st century?, Beyond Price – what are the things we have in our lives already that money can’t buy?, Learn and Pass It On – things we have learned in our lives that we would like to pass on to other people, and Safe+Sound – inspirational stories of people who have come through difficult times in a positive way.  The book is published by TASCHEN books, and is available for around $40.00.  Check out some of the pages after the jump.
