Spin Magazine is giving some national recognition to Chicago’s music scene. They tapped Chicago based photographer, Tasha Schalk, for the best of her photos documenting concerts in the Windy City. The photo gallery includes pics, as well as quick anecdotes about the scenes in which they were captured. The set includes photos from venues ranging from the Beat Kitchen and Angels and Kings to the Midwest Amphitheatre and the Double Door. Hip Hoppers and Hipsters may not recognize a lot of these acts, as the photos are all rock and punk focused…but hey, it’s good to learn new things. See the full gallery here.
