[Album] Broken Bells: "After The Disco"

This is one release that I've personally been waiting on for awhile. Nearly four years have passed since DJ Danger Mouse and The Shins' James Mercer linked up for arguably one of 2010's best releases in their self-titled project, dubbed "Broken Bells." The project was an instant hit, and also the last we heard from the talented collaboration until songs starting eeking onto the Internet late last year, and the eventual announcement of a new album. That album, After The Disco, arrived today to rave reviews and is currently streaming over at iTunes. Take some time out of your day to give it a listen, or if not at least check out the promotional short films for the project that released a couple weeks ago.

[Video] Broken Bells Perform on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon

Broken Bells, the collaborative effort of DJ Danger Mouse and The Shins' James Mercer made music industry waves back in 2009 when the pair released their self-titled project that mixed sultry, smooth aesthetics with Mercer's gentle vocals to create a sublime album that can be listened back to front at almost any time of the day. Quiet since then, Danger Mouse and Mercer have been slowly building a mountain of anticipation for their announced 2014 release, After The Disco, which they teased over the past couple of months. The project is due out on February 4 and in continuing promotion, the duo visited "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" to play "Holding On For Life" and "After The Disco". Check out performances of both, streaming below and keep it locked for the latest on Broken Bells.

Broken Bells Announce New Album with Video

It's been three years since Broken Bells graced the world with their self-titled debut album. The collaboration of Danger Mouse and The Shins' frontman James Mercer is a beautiful one that many listeners were unsure would manifest itself again after their critically-acclaimed album took audiences by surprise in 2010. Today, the pair dispelled any doubt, announcing a new album via a video in which a perceived new song plays in the background of a desert scene. The album, After the Disco, is set to drop in January 2014. For now, check out the release below.
