[Album] The Palmer Squares: "Finna"
The Palmer Squares have been building up their profile in Chicago for awhile now. Don't believe me? Go to any show Acumental and Terminal Knowledge are performing at, and you'll see the large crowds of Palmer Squares fans that are there specifically for them. Finally, the duo have released their first full-length album to collect all of their songs into one nice and neat project.
If you're not familiar with The Palmer Squares, Finna serves as the perfect primer for any curious listeners. Their songs are far away from the popular Chicago drill sound for a sound that harkens back to 90s hip hop that focused more on lyrical abilities than party anthems. Of course, that's not to say there aren't some party bangers on Finna. Joining the two are other local rappers Kembe X, Saba, and ProbCause.
Check Finna out below. If you want to learn more, you can check out the official Palmers Square website. The Palmer Squares' next Chicago show will be at Cafe Mustache this Saturday with Black Matt (LOD!), Lamon Manuel, Ill Legit + EST85, Jams Dean, and a DJ set from Fess Grandiose. They also have a show at Lincoln Hall on November 14th with Taylor Bennett, ProbCause, Caleb James, DGainz, and more.

[Stream] The Weeknd: "Kiss Land"
The Weeknd, quiet since his release of his Trilogy series last year, premiered his latest album, Kiss Land via an album stream on NPR, which is available here. At first listen, the newest offering from the Toronto native isn't much of a departure from his earlier work: introspective-laden lyrics dripping in layers with a lot of large-scale production behind it, albeit a bit more dance-laden. The Weeknd does what he does well, and that sentiment isn't lost on him as he seems to further his brand and personal genre with Kiss Land. The lone feature go to Drake (of course), check it out for yourself.

[Album] Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros
You've heard these dudes. Even if you don't think you have... you have. Popping up in television shows and movies, as well as numerous ads, ranging from Microsoft to the NFL, Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros' infectious hit, "Home," has spread like wildfire since its release a few years ago. And there is no doubt in my mind that their new, self-titled album, which was released today, will be every bit as successful.
For their part, this soulful, groovy, talented 10-piece band, led by front man Alex Ebert, report they are thrilled to release new material. Ebert produced the album himself and shared on the band website, "These songs mean everything to me. It's the rawest, most liberated, most rambunctious stuff we've done." Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros have been described as psychedelic indie-rock but, their efforts -- unquestionably triumphant -- truly explore many styles.
You can purchase the album on iTunes, as well as a deluxe edition with three bonus tracks. If you're looking for the CD, LP, or Vinyl, check out the band's store.
