[Video] Phantogram Perform on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live'

Phantogram are in the thick of their promotional run for their latest project, Voices, released yesterday via Republic Records and last night stopped in Burbank to pay Jimmy Kimmel a visit and perform their songs, "Black Out Days" and "Fall in Love" to an energized crowd at the AT&T Outdoor Stage. The UK duo is sure to be in the public eye quite a bit over the next few months, having finally ended the long wait that fans had between Voices and 2011's full release, Nightlife. Check out the full video of them performing last night in the video, streaming below.

[Video] Jay Dot Rain: "Grits N' Gravy"

I've been following Alabama-based artist Jay Dot Rain for awhile now, since featuring him on the site as one of our First Look features. The crafty, soul-filled MC brings a flavor from the south that we haven't heard in a minute, doign with boom-bap-like sounds and soul samples what A$AP Rocky did bringing trill music east a few years back. Teaming up with BeatBlockaz, Jay Dot has begun firmly establishing himself as an artist to know as 2014 lurches into full gear. Recently, we got a fresh video for his track "Grits N' Gravy", the first single off his upcoming project, Trap Jazz, due out next month. The video, shot & edited by LeXander Bryant of ORGNZD, follows Jay Dot and crew as they kick in Tuscaloosa and ruminate on all aspects of "Grits N' Gravy". Jay Dot's last video, for "How I Do" showed the same squad doing their thing in Times Square in NYC and here they bring it back home. Check out the latest from Jay Dot Rain, below.

[Video] Jhene Aiko Performs "The Worst" on Conan

Songstress Jhene Aiko continued her tour of late night TV sets, last night making her rounds at the Conan O'Brien Show on TBS to perform her song "The Worst." The beautifull, charming Aiko killed the track, as was expected with her having performed the song now on Jimmy Kimmel, Saturday Night Live with Drake and on Jimmy Fallon, maybe she'll also help Seth Myers settle in next week? Anyway, it's always a good day when you can wake up and hear Jhene sing, check out the full video streaming below.

[Songs of the Day] 2/12/14 (Feat. Common, HeadHunterz & #100Trill)

Hump Day was a slower day for a lot of big artists releasing content, allowing us to branch out a bit and see what was out there. RAC keeps things upbeat midweek with their delightfully bouncy, harmonic "Repeating Motion" featuring Karl Kling and HeadHunterz offered up a stadium-sized new track to get you out of bed in and into the polar vortex with their latest in "Breakout" with Audiofreq ("Weapons ready? Let's dance"). Maya Vik gives us some 80s soul with her new song, "Totally Right", MISUN keeps things tropical in the middle of the winter with "Travel With Me". Wild Beasts tease their new album, Present Tense with a grooving, deep-bellied "Sweet Spot" while Mariah Carey adds Trey Songz to the remix of her latest hit "You're Mine (Eternal)".

Once again, this Midwest had a steady string of hip-hop hit the web today as well with Fred Santana strapping on an auto-tune jetpack on "It's Only Right", Lil Herb giving listeners some new with "Koolin" and Lyric teaming up with Caleb James for "Weekend". The duo of #100Trill dropped the first single off their upcoming Muzik 2 Check Yo Bitch 2 EP, due out in time for Valentine's Day with "Contemplating" and we get a new song from Frank Leone in "Night Brigade".

Track of the Day: Common: "Made In Black America" (Feat. Ab-Soul): Common and Ab-Soul did a song together, there's really not much more to say. Listen below.

Common: "Made In Black America" (Feat. Ab-Soul)

RAC: “Repeating Motion” (Feat. Karl Kling)

Fredo Santana: “It’s Only Right”

Lil Herb aka G Herbo: “Koolin”

[Album Stream] Phantogram: "Voices"

It's been a long wait for Phantogram's latest studio album since 2011's Nightlife EP and apparently the UK synth-pop duo got sick of it too, releasing a stream of the album today on Soundcloud, which you can find here below. Voices isn't a huge departure for Sarah Barthel and Josh Carter, as it stays true to the aesthetics that thrust the duo into the spotlight when the sound was fresh and new. Three years later, they seemed to have settled into a niche, not an entirely bad thing (Justin Bieber has pretty profitable 'niche') but I have a hard time believing this is all there is. There's plenty of feedback and airy vocals, but it doesn't really progress the way I had expected it to. Perhaps it's the fact that the album has been teased since last September, when "Black Out Days" first hit the Internet and that's where the feeling of repetition is coming from. I'm sure this project will make a huge wave across the greater music landscape, I was just hoping for something a little bit more. Stream and full tour dates through 2014 below.

[Video] RDGLDGRN: "Doing The Most"

RDGLDGRN is a decent band that doesn't like vowels. The Pharrell-backed project dropped a video for their most recent single, "Doing The Most" the other day, getting a little bit caught up in the Grammy hysteria of the weekend. The Washington D.C.-based group first came to national attention with their song and video for "I Love Lamp" that garnered them a heavy online following and caught the ear of the likes of Dave Grohl and Pharrell, who has had his hand in the most recent production to come from the band. "Doing The Most" is off the band's self-titled project released in September of last year, check out the video streaming below.
