Mick Jenkins: "Cross Roads" (feat. Chance The Rapper & Vic Mensa)

Not too long ago, I was able to chill in the studio with production team On Gaud where we talked about all the material they had in the works and formally put me onto Mick Jenkins and his Trees & Truths mixtape. Since then, Mick has been on my radar. "Cross Roads" is a great record with a smooth vibe that will surely showcase Mick's talent to a wider audience thanks to Chance The Rapper & Vic Mensa's guest-appearance.

Mick Jenkins: “Pyrite” (feat. Lord of the Fly) (prod. by OnGaud)

For his latest single, Mick Jenkins, once again collaborates with production crew, OnGaud --who recently dropped an incredible instrumental project--,while also bringing Lord of the Fly with them for a smooth record named "Pyrite".

Mick Jenkins: "BOB" (feat. Dally Auston) (Prod. by OnGaud)

The first time I listened to Mick Jenkins was on DJ SuchNSuch's "Negro League", from then on I've kept a close eye on his material hoping to hear more of the quality he delivered on "Negro League". "BOB" is exactly the song I was waiting for and having Dally Auston do a verse plus OnGaud behind the boards has sold me entirely on the potential Mick has. When's the project coming?

SolarFive: "No Love" (feat. Mick Jenkins) (Prod. by OnGaud)

To be honest, I wasn't all that familiar with SolarFive before hearing his latest record, "No Love". Nevertheless, the Mick Jenkins-assisted joint was a perfect way for me to be introduced to Solar and his music. The smooth instrumental --produced by OnGuad--is the perfect backdrop for the two emerging artists to trade bars while speaking on the lack of love that a lot of people go through in their lives. Solar's SayNoMore 'tape will be released on May 14th 2013.

[Video] Mick Jenkins: "Chicago"

"We brought the 'woooo' like Ric Flair."

After solid features on Saba's GetCOMFORTable, and DJ SuchNSuch's "Negro League", Mick Jenkins provides the formal introduction in "Chicago".  Taking the instrumental from Blackstar's "Respiration", Mick gives listeners an autobiography set to music.  Beginning with his childhood and continuing on through early adulthood, "Chicago" is a honest record with solid bars.  The video isn't too shabby either, as director JMILLZ uses the city as the perfect backdrop.  Check it out below.
