Cherub Announces North American Tour with ProbCause
Breakthrough dance music duo Cherub made waves last year with a sound that paired '80s aesthetics, modern-day dance music motifs, and some inspired falsetto to create one of the most exciting sounds to come out of last year as they rode the success to several festival dates, including North Coast where I was able to catch up with them. It was during that summer that the pair linked up with eclectic Chicago hip-hop artist ProbCause who joined them on the majority of their headlining tour that ran through the end of last summer and fall. Today, Cherub announced a monster North American tour that kicks off in Nashville on March 1 and runs through May 3 where they wrap things up in Baton Rouge, LA. Jordan Kelley and Jason Huber handpicked ProbCause and Carousel to join them on the massive North American journey as well, so expect these shows to really be poppin'. [Video] Disclosure & Sam Smith Perform "Latch" Live on Fallon
English dance music duo Disclosure made their North American television debut last night, performing their song "Latch" with crooner Sam Smith on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon while in New York City as part of their current tour. The pair proved why they have been vaulted to the forefront of the new music scene in America over the past year, performing with a uniquely interesting stage set-up that I haven't seen on Late Night before, complete with a laser face that mimicked Smith's facial movements as he sang. Disclosure is just the latest in a long line of talented British dance acts and shows why in the video below. Sam Smith absolutely kills on the live vocals, taking the typical electronic set up a notch with the decidedly live addition. Check it all out below.
Mayer Hawthorne Announces Tour
Detroit soul singer Mayer Hawthorne will be starting off his 2014 on the road after announcing his largest tour to date earlier today. Hawthorne will be touring in support of his July release Where Does This Door Go, which is also the name of his trip across the country that begins January 30 in Sand Diego and runs through March 6 when he arrives back in Motown. A quintessential performer and fresh off opening for Bruno Mars on his European tour, Mayer Hawthorne is certainly an act to catch live. Full dates and a video of Mayer announcing the tour are here below.
