[Trailer 2] Out of the Furnace

The first trailer for Out of the Furnace hooked me with its stellar cast (Christian Bale, Casey Affleck, Forest Whitaker, Willem Dafoe, Woody Harrelson, amongst others); this second trailer for the Scott Cooper-directed drama/thriller has me even more excited for the film. As is the case with most trailers, the new footage introduces the main conflict in the film: Rodney (Affleck), an Iraq War vet, gets entangled with an underground drug ring. His older brother, Russell (Bale), takes matters into his own hands to find what happened to Rodney after the police have given up their investigation.

Following in line with recent and upcoming revenge/vigilante films (OldboyPrisonersTaken, etc.), Out of the Furnace appears to be tantalizing and full of suspense with the right amount of action and drama filtered in. Out of the Furnace will be in select theaters November 27th with a wider release following a week after on December 6th.

Christian Bale, Woody Harrelson, Casey Affleck, Willem Dafoe, Zoe Saldana, Forest Whitaker. Talent like that practically prints money and awards. Out of the Furnace teams all of the aforementioned actors in a drama thriller directed by Scott Cooper (Crazy Heart). Bale and Affleck star as Russell and Rodney Blaze, two brothers living in a blue-collar mill town on the Northeast Coast. When Rodney gets into trouble with a local crime ring, Russell finds himself taking the justice in his own hands. Woody Harrelson stars as the main antagonist, which should be a fun role to see him in.

Out of the Furnace will hit theaters on a limited release November 27th followed by a wide release on December 6th.
