It took a few years of rejection, and a rallying cry from Chuck D, but the Beasite Boys will finally join the Rock N’ Roll Hall and Fame come April of 2012. They will be inducted with a class that includes the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Guns N’ Roses, Faces/Small Faces, Laura Nyro, and Donovan. I’m happy to see the Beastie Boys join the hall, and hopefully more of Hip Hop’s elderstatemen will follow. It should be noted that Eric B. and Rakim were nominated but did not make the final vote. Hopefully next year for them.
The induction ceremony will take place April 14th in Cleveland.
