Yessir! We’re bringing three of the best emerging emcees to the Dark Room on Thursday, October 15th for Return of The Real, Skyzoo’s first headlining performance. RH faithful should be familiar with Skyzoo at this point, his debut album The Salvation hit stores last week and has received nothing but props. He’ll be joined on stage by Cleveland’s Chip Tha Ripper, who has blessed mulitple Lava Lounge parties and is ready to bring us his full set as well. -Chicago-based music and culture online magazine presents The Return of The Real, a one-night only concert event featuring the first Chicago-headlining performance by emerging Hip Hop artist Skyzoo. Skyzoo will be joined by Cleveland’s Chip Tha Ripper, who will soon release his Mick Boogie sponsored mixtape, the Cleveland Show, as well as Chicago’s ADaD who is currently finishing his new LP, produced completely by L.A.’s Exile.
Skyzoo will hit Chicago’s Dark Room (2210 W. Chicago Avenue) on Thursday, October 15th. His performance comes on the heels of the release of his debut album The Salvation, which was released on September 15th by storied independent Hip Hop label, Duck Down Records. The LP features production from Just Blaze, 9th Wonder, Nottz, and Illmind, and has been heralded as a refreshing and innovative album. The album has received critical acclaim, garnering 4/5 stars by formidable Hip Hop website HipHopDX as well as an “XL” rating by Hip Hop’s premier print magazine, XXL. The Return of The Real at the Darkroom will allow Chicago to see Skyzoo’s skill first hand, alongside other top up and comers Chip Tha Ripper and ADaD.
Cleveland’s Chip Tha Ripper is no stranger to Chicago. The Cleveland emcee has become a local favorite thanks to his work with top Chicago artists, Naledge of Kidz In The Hall, Mic Terror, The Cool Kids, and more. He has performed multiple times at RubyHornet club dates, and will make his proper concert debut on October 15th. Chip is most recently featured on Kid Cudi’s debut album, Man On The Moon: The End of Day, and is also Cudi’s partner in their newly launched group, The Almighty Glorious. He is fresh off an appearance at Atlanta’s A3C festival, and finishing up a mixtape with Mick Boogie.
Joining both Skyzoo and Chip Tha Ripper is Chicago’s ADaD. Part of All Natural, ADaD’s also been making a name for himself in Chicago and beyond. He recently released a free project with Chicago’s Saint Alfred’s clothing brand, and is finishing up a proper LP with Los Angeles based producer, Exile.
