I never really thought I would write that, but hey, dude’s come along way since “Hustlin'”. And to be honest, I like that song a lot as well. Ross has a lot of hype surrounding his new LP, Teflon Don. One look at the tracklist explains why. The new set features artists such as Jay-Z, Kanye West, Raphael Saadiq, Styles P, Drake, Cee-Lo, even Erykah Badu makes appearance providing the hook for “Maybach Music III”. In addition, Ross has made Teflon Don feel like a real “album”. The back cover (shown above) really made me think of releases from Marvin Gaye and others. While the tracklist is feature heavy, it is short and sweet, further giving the project a cohesive appearance. The one thing I keep coming back to though is if it’s really Ross that makes me want to hear this album, or it’s just features from some of my favorite artists and intriguing collaborations?
I mean, dude has a song called “MC Hammer”. And it features Gucci. I can only imagine what’s going on there… “Maybach Music III” is below as well.
