The first official trailer for Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues greeted early birds this morning. The film follows the original Anchorman film where Ron Burgundy (Will Ferrell) and his Action News Team of Brick Tamland (Steve Carrell), Brian Fantana (Paul Rudd), and Champ Kind (David Koechner) moving from San Diego to New York City during the onset of the cable news channel boom in the early ’80s.
I’m not much of a Will Ferrell fan, but I have a soft spot for Anchorman. The sequel looks like it’ll be more of the same, except with some uneasy racial tension to go with the misogyny. Much like the original film, Carrell steals the majority of the scenes in the trailer, with the blue screen gag at the end being pretty hilarious. Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues will hit theaters on December 20th.
