I’m not the biggest fan of concert films. They’re always these bloated, self-aggrandizing fluff pieces meant as nothing more than mini-docs explaining why the subject is so great. I’m looking at you, Part of MeBelieve, and Never Say Never. However, there’s an upcoming concert film that definitely spotlights the fluff in the best way possible.

The Fluffy Movie is a stand-up comedy concert film focused on Fluffy himself, Gabriel Iglesias. Anybody that’s familiar with Iglesias, whether from his brief stint on All That!, his recent role in A Haunted House 2Magic Mike, or from his various stand-up specials (Hot and FluffyI’m Not Fat… I’m FluffyAloha Fluffy), know that he’s not only humble, but absolutely hysterical. His mix of self-deprecating jokes of his weight or the jokes that rely heavily on Hispanic culture have found a huge audience, allowing the comedian to travel across the world to sold-out shows.

I may not be the biggest fan of the format, but The Fluffy Movie just might be the exception to the rule. Have your Hawaiian shirts ready when The Fluffy Movie hits theaters on July 11th.
