The pursuit of happiness is one that can take many a lifetime to accomplish… if at all. Many turn to all forms of help to attain that one thing that can truly put a smile on their face. One such way is through therapy where psychiatrists are paid in time and money to help those in help figure out what ails them. In the upcoming comedy Hector and the Search for Happiness, Simon Pegg stars as the titular Hector, a psychiatrist who realizes that he’s tired of his daily routine and truly feels like his attempts at making his patients happy aren’t working. To alleviate the situation, he sets out on an adventure to hopefully find whatever it is that can bring happiness to not only himself, but those around him. In addition to Pegg, the film also stars Rosamund Pike and Stellan Skarsgard.
Hector and the Search for Happiness will premiere at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival on September 7th, followed by a release in New York and Los Angeles on September 19th, limited release on September 26th, and wide release everywhere else on October 3rd.
