A new trailer for the Hunger Games sequel, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire was unveiled this weekend at SDCC. The film takes place after the events of the first film with Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) in which they changed the script for the future of each district. However, those running the Capitol and the titular Hunger Games didn’t appreciate the way Katniss and Peeta were able to triumph, as their win gave hope and inspiration to the districts. To get back, the Capitol organizes the 75th annual Hunger Games as a competition amongst previous winners in an attempt to kill Katniss properly.

I avoided the Hunger Games hype for the most part, but I did enjoy the first film. By the looks of this new trailer, it seems as if this sequel will be more political in nature and will feature some better action scenes and competition. Hopefully it won’t fall prey to the “middle” film doldrums that face sequels when it’s released in theaters on November 22nd.
