The latest trailer for Thor: The Dark World was released earlier this morning, and it’s looking pretty godly. Chris Hemsworth returns as Thor, the Norse god of lightning, with Natalie Portman returning as his love interest, Jane, after sitting out last summer’s The Avengers. Director Alan Taylor (Kill the Poor) has taken up directing duties this time around as Kenneth Branagh decided not to return to Asgard.
Thor: The Dark World takes place a year after the events of The Avengers as the supervillain, Malekith the Accursed (Christopher Eccleston), threatens the Nine Realms, essentially posing a risk that time, space, and reality would cease to exist if he’s not stopped. Thusly, Thor turns to his brother/Avengers antagonist, Loki (Tom Hiddleston), for help.
The next in the fantastic Marvel Films lineup will be hitting theaters on November 8th.
