Japanese-American artist and designer Taka Hayashi has a long track record with Vans. Each of his collaborations puts an abnormal spin on Vans’ classic silhouettes; bringing an elevated sense of elegance to a pair of regular sneakers. Vans Vault will release his latest run of Sk8-Hi’s in their Fall 2011 collection. The sneakers bear his signature stylings, with a double upper, the outer layer made of smooth leather and the inner suede. Tan leather is used for the midsole, a departure even for Vans, and the shoes are capped off with leather laces and his logo stitched on the tongue.
