Ana Tijoux

Ana Tijoux is Chile’s second artist ever nominated for a Grammy… True story.  The female emcee is starting make some noise stateside from her Grammy nominated LP, 1977, and her most recent mixtape Elefant.  Tijoux’s parents are political exiles of Chile, living in France and raising Ana there until she returned to a democratic Chile as a teenager and submerged herself in the budding Santiago Hip Hop scene.  She was an integral part of one of Chile’s top Hip Hop crews Makiza, before going solo around 2007.  Tijoux put together this promo video for Elefant while in Los Angeles. The video consists most of street and action shots, following Tijoux throughout her day and using multiplying and other effects to match the soundtrack, which contains a few selections from the mixtape and a slew of DJ tricks.  Very dope.  Watch the video below.  Download Elefant here.
