Apathy

“Rap money’s bulls**t, nothing like it used to be, I used to be used to G’s, blew through’em foolishly.”

Apathy is gearing up for the release of a new album, Honkey Kong, which will drop on August 23rd.  Here we have a new video for the LP’s first single, “Check To Check”, an honest and insightful look at poor financial planning, and the bubble of underground Hip Hop that burst leaving Apathy and many of his peers wondering where the next dollars are coming from.  In the late 90’s and early 2000’s underground Hip Hop was booming, independent record labels were able to thrive, and you could do some damage moving 12 inches and touring the country.  A lot of those routes have dried up, which is something Slug of Atmosphere talked about as well when I interviewed him last fall year.

This song and video are both dope, as Apathy utilizes production from Evidence of Dilated Peoples to tell his story. Watch below.
