I remember when Ricky Williams quit football to live in the mountains, meditate, and smoke weed. My roommate and I, who were both teaching in CPS thought that was awesome, and would joke all the time about trying to achieve that Ricky Williams lifestyle. I think similar thoughts when seeing Jay Electronica’s travel videos, reading his tweets, and listening to his music. He seems totally disconnected from the music industry, and completely at peace with his purpose and his music. That maybe way off, but that’s how it looks from a distance.
