“Script it like a poet, cause I live it and I know it.”

I just finished up a rough draft of my feature piece on Ka, and was searching for some photos when I spotted this new video for his record “No Downtime” off his Grief Pedigree LP.  While Ka is almost 40 years old, and has been making music for close to 20 years, it is only now that he is starting to get some much deserved props and “see a little glimmer,” as he puts it.  It’s ironic how music about so much pain and struggle can be refreshing, but that truly is the best way to describe Ka’s music, made by the common man for the common man.  And it’s dope.  Just watch “No Downtime” below, and you’ll see what’s up.  And look for my feature on Ka to drop tomorrow.
