I said a couple days ago that I thought Kanye’s greatest skill is not getting comfortable with success, and only working hard. The new Watch The Throne Behind The Scenes clip puts that theme front and center as Kanye attributes this drive for improvement to human evolution.

It makes perfect sense then that Kanye would tell Big Sean that he has no doubt the young emcee’s skills will one day surpass his own. It’s also interesting that West says that being a great musician nowadays has been cheapened and is not as powerful. While artists are expected to do much more to be considered great at this time, the weight greatness carries is lessened due to the commercialization of the art. Also in the episode Kanye meets with Mary Kate & Ashley Olson, and talks Hip Hop with a party of James Blake, Mannie Fresh, Really Doe, and Malik Yusef.
