I’ve been talking extensively about Netherfriends lately, and with good reason; the one-man band/production team/musician extraordinaire has a lot of projects coming out this summer. We’re talking New CHI-t50 Songs 50 States, and P3ACE. We’ve heard some of what’s in store, including yesterday’s “Jurassic Park V” with theWHOevers. Today, we’re showing a small glimpse into Netherfriends’ next project, Kind of Buzzed.

The video is very lo-fi, tying into the project’s theme of improvisation inspired by Miles Davis’ Kind of Blue album. Netherfriends and associates, this time featuring Chandler London and Impolite Society’s Blakkass Westley freestyling over Netherfriends’ instrumental improvisation and Danimal THA CHOPPA on MPC. It’s different, rough, and not like normal hip hop releases, and it’s exactly why I feel Netherfriends has been making such a wave in the local scene lately.
