Chicago crew Pivot Gang recently sent over a clip of them in a form that we rarely see in Hip-Hop today, a cypher. The BET Award Show cypher has definitely been a spectacle over the past couple years, but each year it becomes more obvious the artists are not freestyling. Whether on a radio show, or at a show, many artists these days choose to spit written verses in ‘freestyle’ form, which does not constitute a true freestyle. Well, Pivot gang is here with all real freestyles as well as live instrumentation from Saba, for an organic look into one of Chicago’s rising squads.
