Tyler, The Creator

“At the moment, I’m ‘that n***a’, but I don’t let it get to my head.  When I go back home, I’m going to go get on my f**king trampoline and watch Cartoon Network, cause that’s what I do.”

For the last couple months, I’ve seen Tyler, The Creator’s face probably everyday. At least everyday Monday-Saturday.  Some Sunday’s I don’t really turn on my computer… but, most Sundays I do and if I go to any music related sites, his face is usually there to greet me.  Tyler, and his Odd Future crew are the topic of many many discussions, and come up maybe once a day at the office as well.  So, I have a lot of familiarity with Tyler, The Creator, but I don’t really feel like I know what he’s about beyond what I get in the music.  Today that changed a little bit after watching this interview he did during SXSW with The Drone.

This is by far the most complete interview I’ve seen, as Tyler talks about his art, the way the music is interpreted vs. how he would like it to be.  He also talks about growing up, being picked on and called “white boy” for being a fan of Good Charlotte, and a lot more.  I definitely have a more complete view of him and his music.  Watch the interview after the jump.
