Washington DC

Washington DC is my old stomping ground, and when it comes to shopping, I can personally tell you that the chocolate city has much to offer. From the “east coast Rodeo Dr.” to the heart of Georgetown, Wisconsin Avenue runs the gamete from boutique to high end retail stores. Everyone from Michelle Obama, to the upper crest of street kids has plenty of choice when it comes to this shopping area.

Sugar- 1633 Wisconsin Ave.- (202).333.5331– Men and women alike, will want to indulge in all the goodies. Smart and sweet this boutique provides pieces that are necessary to get that now look, without being too trendy. The smaller store and ubber friendly sales staff make it easy to find labels, that the hottest stars are wearing. Adam+Eve, Rich and Skinny, Sunner, Tracey Reese and Tibi, are just a few of the lines that have made this store shop worthy.

Reebok

Common Wealth-1781 Florida Ave.-(202).265.1830
– The majority of us have heard of Pharrell Williams boutique, but a trip to the actual store is a must do! Common wealth is at the top of its game, and has exclusives in sneakers and clothing. The cool staff not only helps any newbie find what they never dreamed of, but will continue to surprise those who have long been in the game. Of course the store carries BBC, and Play Clothes. Most recently they have collaborated with Reebok, with a twist on the old school pump, any and every sneaker head is going to want in on these. Dropping in August, the sea foam color way will be THE must have summer joint. A little of the map, but worth the drive or extra metro trip.

Urban Chic- 1626 Wisconsin Ave.- (202).338.5398-
Outstanding selection in casual to high end clothing, the store is fun, flirty and all around amazing. For those of us ladies that are looking for a one stop shop, this is it. Lines like Love Quotes, Diane Von Furstenberg, Botkier, and Rory Beca will keep your look fresh. A favorite of mine for denim, they have the classics as well as labels you probably never heard of. Don’t forget to get the sexy Milly bikini here.

Akomplice

Major-1426 Wisconsin Ave.-(202).625.6732- Like no other store in DC, the owner gives his hometown shoppers something to brag about. Striving to give consumers exactly what they want, translation: exclusive, exclusive, exclusive! Right now Major is all about the Leroy Smith tees, the early release of the Patrick Ewing’s Conductor Adidas, and the impressive Akomplice Summer 2009 line. Not missing a beat, this store definitely has the game on lock, taking any shopping trip to the next level.

Barack Obama

Five Guys-1335 Wisconsin Ave.- Beware, the burgers served here will have you addicted. Michelle and Barack have even sneaked out of the White House to satisfy their craving. Anytime day or night this menu will give you what you need and want. Just thinking about this spot, I want to book a flight home for a cheeseburger and fries.

For the Greater Good- 1781 Florida Ave.-(202).387.0177-  Men only, this high end shop is brother stores with Common Wealth. The store gives you sleek labels, but also provides an experience like no other. Highly selective, the labels and are chosen to work with one another.  From shoes to eye wear all items are unique and contemporary, they will take your personal look to that next level.
