Holy hell. We all knew The Hunger Games: Catching Fire was gonna have an amazing weekend debut, but not this amazing. The film sequel of the popular young adult novel series’ adaptation opened to an astounding $161 million weekend opening. The amount sets the film as the highest-grossing November release of all-time. To give it even more of a perspective, Thor: The Dark World, the top film for the past two weekends, has only made close to $168 million domestically. Aren’t box office statistics so interesting?!
