The saying goes “an eye for an eye, and tooth for a tooth”, so many may have expected that when the Beastie Boys had to duck out of Lollapalooza (sadly due to MCA’s health concerns) C3 Presents would replace them with another Hip Hop headlining artist. I guess Rock The Bells snatched them all up, because Lollapalooza has turned to indie-electro’s Yeah Yeah Yeahs to fill the Beasties’ Saturday night closing spot. The Yeah Yeah Yeahs inclusion makes this year’s Lollapalooza officially one without a Hip Hop headlining artist after past years have included closing sets by Kanye West, and if you want to stretch it, Rage Against The Machine. It also leaves Snoop Dogg at Hip Hop’s biggest name on the bill, he is also joined by other find them in the rap section artists such as Atmosphere, The Knux, and Asher Roth.
