Digital Freshness: Raekwon

Raekwon

While in town for the Chicago date of the Sneaker Pimps tour, Raekwon linked up with us to host a special edition of our Digital Freshness series at Chicago's Beauty Bar (check out pics here).  The intimate venue has never hosted an artist of Raekwon's legacy and stature, creating a great environment and a special energy.  Raekwon kicked it at Beauty Bar, and at the end of the night, gave the fans a treat by grabbing the mic for "C.R.E.A.M." and a few select tracks.  Check out a clip from the night and look for more in the forthcoming Raekwon edition of Closed Sessions.

Ruby Hornet buddy Willy Joy just dropped a new mix from his episode on Kick Out The Jam Radio.

"With elements of electro, house, UK funky, pop, techno and heavy bass all coming to the fore, this is a well put together mix capable of getting just about everyone doing the running man.  His newest release with Rob Threezy on Trouble & Bass comes as part of their Heavy Bass Champions Of The World series. With his releases getting support from the likes of Diplo, Drop The Lime, Brodinski & Boy 8-Bit, this mix shows exactly why he has friends in high places." - KOTJ BLOG

The variety of sounds encountered on this track mix together well to create a colorful backdrop for a rap verse from Green followed by a singing one from Gold. If you're looking for something fresh, you've found it. Make the jump to grab the track.
