Nike City of Win Vol. 1

Chicago is rich in tradition with a vast offering of HS hoop stars and an even more impressive list of ballers from Chicago who flourish at the NBA level. The Nike 6 points campaign celebrates the two as the next new superstar emerges. From the Nike City of Win mixtape and related events, to mind blowing highlights, the City of Win is in full effect as all eyes are focused squarely on the Windy City. We kick things off with the City of Win Mixtape Vol. 1. The mixtape features 11 new and exclusive tracks from Chicago artists such as Mikkey Halsted, Vic Mensa, BBU, JUICE, Twone Gabz, Voyce G.I. Asaad: "Brain Outside My Head"

This is a new track from the homie Asaad. Asaad is a 19 year old artist based in Philadelphia, who is currently working on his 3rd release titled No. 19, dropping soon. Asaad matches the newfound level of intelligence and skill that we have seen from a vast number of up an coming mc's this year. No. 19 features production from Noize Trip, Bink!, Ritz Reynolds and guest spitters include Black Thought and Rich Hil. I am extremely happy and thankful for the amount of quality new artists in the game, and this is ONLY the beginning. Hit the jump for the track.
J. Cole: "In The Morning" featuring Drake

J. Cole and Drake team up to ask an age old question, "can I hit in the morning?" The song comes from Cole's Friday Night Lights mixtape, which should be hitting the internets at any moment. It's interesting how J. Cole was immediately hit with "the next Drake" label right after The Warm-Up dropped. Since then he's been able to establish his own identity, and the two will be embarking on a Euro tour in January. Get the new track below. Watch for the mixtape any time now.
Kid Cudi: "We Aite" (Make Your Mind Up) video

Here is a visual for "We Aite (Make Your Mind Up)", a short and spaced out tune off Kid Cudi's MOTM II: The Legend of Mr. Rager. The music video also doubles as a clip from the Kid Cudi documentary, The Story of Mr. Rager, which comes with the deluxe edition of Cudi's new LP.
Directed by Jason Goldwatch.
Chromeo: "Hot Mess" video

Chromeo told us to be on the look out for the "Hot Mess" video, and that they had some tricks up their sleeves. They did not disappoint. The Jérémie Rozan directed clips puts both Dave 1 and P-Thugg on the case as police officers on break, just looking to take a shower before second shift. There are some confusion as which locker room is which, and a literally hot and steamy mess is created when Chromeo showers with the co-eds. See the new clip below via Pitchfork.

Lacoste x Ships x Journal Standard

Lacoste continues to impress me with their innovative and fresh collabs. A few weeks ago I wrote about their Legends polo series, in which they invited 12 style icons to remix their classic L.12.12. Lacoste has done something similar with their classic Rene shoe. For this collaboration, Lacoste invited Japanese retailers Ships and Journal Standard to redesign their staple shoe, named after their founder Rene Lacoste.
Check out pics of the shoe below, and order them here.
Ground Up: "Got Damn" video

Ground Up is set to drop their new mixtape, Girls Who Like Cigarettes, next wee Tuesday. I've been impressed with what I've seen and heard from the Philly crew thus far in "Fast Enough", and "Turn Around". Their latest video, "Got Damn" is a fun and funky joint with clever and carefree visuals to match. Check it out below.
Dam Funk: "3012 Love Affair"
All City Records is back with the 7th installment of their 10 part 10" collection featuring stand out of LA's producer/beat community. For number 7, Computer Jay and Dam Funk come together for a "3012 Love Affair". Download the track below. The full 10" is available via iTunes.
