It’s been a while since 50 Cent was on featured on RubyHornet. Sh*t, it’s been a long time since anyone really cared what 50 was doing. But today his Boy Q feature got me interested. On the tails of releasing his new tape 5: Murder By Numbers he got the Top Dawg to help him on the remix. The project was originally slated to be an album, but 50 switched it up and released it earlier today; it’s drop comes as he preps for his final album with Interscope, Street King Immortal.
It’s known that Q was influenced heavily by 50, he breaks down his style and influences on A$AP Rocky’s “Brand New Guy”, rapping “Biggie and Nas put they ass in a blender, sprinkle some 50 and came out this nigga.” Hopefully 50 continues to enlist the new generation of MCs to help rejuvenate his style and perhaps provide some inspiration for his ailing career.
