Richard Ashcroft, the former frontman of The Verve, is returning with his first LP in 4 years. Ashcroft is one of my favorite musicians, and the Verve’s “Bittersweet Symphony” spawning LP remains one of my favorites. Ashcroft’s new album is entitled United Nations of Sound and will drop on March 22nd. The first leak from the LP is a Rolling Stones-ish (no irony intended) sonic success “Are You Ready”. The song is featured in the closing credits of the upcoming Matt Damon film “The Adjustment Bureau” and Ashcroft will also perform the song on Jimmy Fallon on its release day. The LP is contains 12 songs produced by Chicago’s own No I.D., which is fairly surprising as well as musically interesting. I’m super excited to hear the album and you can grab the first song below.
