Chanel Spring 2009

Chanel has done it again!  I think we all remember the Resort 2010 show that took place recently, and blew the competition out of the water.  Karl Lagerfeld is a fashion mastermind, and his couture show for Spring 2009 brought us a more disciplined look.  Another interesting thing about this is despite Chanel’s loyalty to the black and white color scheme, Lagerfeld decided to do an all white collection.  That could potentially be repetitive and boring, but the show included everything any girl could only wish for; awesome classic Chanel style suits, cocktail dresses, skirts, etc.  The silhouettes were mostly A-line with cropped jackets, and squared shoulders.  The embellishments were to die for.  There was handwoven pieces, braids, embroidered flowers, and crystalline beading.  Besides Karl’s genius, we also have Toyko based hairdresser, Kamo to thank.  Kamo’s tea, constructed paper roses, camellias, leaf fronds, and feathers that were atop each girls’ head.  This was inspired by photos of 18th century photos of porcelin figures.  See all of the magic below!  Watch the entire thing… it’s so worth it.
