I forgot all about this until yesterday when GLC sent me an email containing a link to his post on GLCityMusic: “Eli Porter Award Recipient – GLC Witnesses Michael Kolar Battles RTC To A Traxter Beat”. This actually happened in like November of ’08 I believe. I was at SoundScape working on what is now known as “Chi Town Streets” featuring Mikkey Halsted over K-Salaam and Beatnick production. While Mikkey and I were in the B-room, GLC, and Traxster were working in the Bunker. I believe Raw TV was there or something and someone came back into our studio and asked me if I would battle Mikkey on camera. I thought it was a joke or something, and there was no way I was going to battle Mikkey Halsted. That was literally the dumbest idea I’ve ever heard… Anyway, I guess they had proposed the same to Kolar, who was pretty wound up. When I went back to the Bunker to say hello to GLC, Mike was itching for a battle and, as you can see in the video below, started rambling on about Brooks Brother sweaters, Internet Kings, and all that mess. They turned the camera on me and I had to say something back, so this video was born. Props to GLC for giving the world one of the worst battles ever… Also, if you’d like to get Mike Kolar on a track please hit me up, as I am handling all feature requests…
