The best time of the year is arriving slowly. As the final heat of summer is burned off, the jackets and long sleeves begin to emerge from storage. The Bears are back at it and after a subpar game versus the powerhouse of the Saints, they’ll be taking on the Packers at Soldier Field. As more clothes become necessary for comfort, the options for dope threads is expanding. Below are selections from around Chicago that are certain to keep you moving forward.

Last week Jugrnaut released their latest run of Shield t-shirts and have followed it up with a lookbook. The multiple colorways of their most notable logo area feature many different combinations. My favorite two are the Bears blue, orange, and gray design as well as a Chicago red, powder blue, and white one.

However the Shield tee is not the illest one Jugrnaut released this week. Next Thursday the store is helping us present “The Natural High“, a release party for our recent Closed Sessions “Natural High” video and the t-shirt we collaborated on. The night will feature DJ Babu of Dilated Peoples/Beat Junkies, Million $ Mano, Hollywood Holt, DJ RTC, VIPJ, and Manny Muscles on the tables and without a doubt will be a great time.

Sir & Madame have had one of the most successful falls yet with mentions in The New York Times, The Huffington Post, Refinery 29, and Bossip. The couple behind the shop, Brian and Autumn Merrit are continually pushing borders and redefining style in our fair city. This week they received new Thorocraft boots for both men and women. The handcrafted shoes are made in Vietnam and Italy out of very high quality leather. For any ladies looking for new some cutting edge fashions for the fall, the store just got the newest from Left on Houston as well. All these products are available on their webstore.

A nice pair of Air Force 1’s is one of the greatest things in the world. This week Leaders 1354 got in two dope ass versions of the iconic model. Both hi top models feature leather construction with white swooshes. The burgundy version sports a gum sole and suede accents. The navy on the other hand features a perforated leather construction. Both models let the shoe do the talking with muted pallets that accentuate the lines. Head to the store to cop these.

Saint Alfred has a great new selection of winter gear that rolled into the shop this week. Everything from Jackets and boots, to waterproof flannels, the store is stocked with some gritty gear. Timberland‘s Abington model received a Chicago update with the addition of Gore-Tex. Meaning that not only will it have the company’s signature durability but is completely water-proof. Converse is also restocked with new Jack Purcell’s and Hi and Lo models of the Chuck Taylor.

A new Penfield order sees the arrival of more winter jackets and flannels for the coming cold. On top of outerwear, there are Penfield and Norse Projects winter caps in-stock.

The Bassment, a new addition to the Local Threads family, is known for its blending of street art, hip-hop, and clothing. The store has been operating for nearly a decade on Ashland Avenue and is home to some pretty fresh gear. This week they’ve got a good lot of vintage caps in stock, but their biggest drop was their announcement of their 9th anniversary celebration. On October 21st at The Metro the store will host Mobb Deep along Alchemist and Big Noyd. Also featured on the bill are Chicago acts L.E.P. Bogus Boys, YP, King Louie, and among others. Mark your calenders in advance because the night is sure to be a great celebration of Chicago’s rich hip-hop circuit.
