Gilbere Forte dropped debut mixtape, 87 Dreams, in mid-July but “1st Floor” featuring Freelance Whales was released about a month prior. This is one of the mellower songs off the mixtape where Forte’s flow doesn’t have that in-your-face feel. The music video is shot accordingly as it is simple but visually appealing, showing scenes that convey “clear, uplifting, positive, and honest emotion.” Be on the lookout for Forte as I’ve heard he’s supposed to embark on an east coast tour sometime in the near future.
