The french seem to have only two speeds, exceedingly light and poppy or rough with a hint of creepy, I like to call it the croissant and coffee effect (for example see Serge Gainsbourg and Jane Birkin). As their name portends, Air trends much closer to the light side of french pop music. While they have known to cross over into that creepy side (see “Playground Love”), the first single off their new album, Love 2 fits squarely in the pop side of pop music. However, even with the lighter nature of the song, the video can’t seem to help from turning the sing-a-long bouncing ball into a creepy (though wonderful) psychedelic roller coaster.
