While Electro (Jamie Foxx) has been confirmed as the main villain in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (complete with a rumored subtitle to boot) and Rhino (Paul Giamatti) was meant to be nothing more than a lesser arch-nemesis, the recently released triptych of new posters for the film have revealed a recently unannounced villain: the Green Goblin. Each part of the poster features a specific villain in the film, but it’s surprising that Sony would choose to reveal the Green Goblin in such a manner when there was no mention of his involvement in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 previously. With Dane DeHaan (Kill Your Darlings) making his franchise debut as Harry Osborn, one could assume that he’ll be heading the Green Goblin mantle; however, as adaptations like to alter story elements, this Green Goblin could be an entirely new person.
