[Video] A$AP Mob: DJ Skee Freestyle

When the A$AP Mob made their way out to California for Coachella, the crew stopped by DJ Skee's radio show in Los Angeles for a visit. While there Rocky, Twelvvy, Nast and Ferg laid down a freestyle over Bone-Thugs-N-Harmony's "Look Into My Eyes" and Bun B's "Draped Up". All four of the members go in, which is dope because I remember a freestyle a while back and in it Rocky easily out shined his compatriots. Now rest of the crew has definitely grown and seem to be refining their talent, a great sign and another reason to get excited for the rumored A$AP Mob project.

Danny Brown

[Video] Darq E Freaker: "Blueberry (Pills & Cocaine)" featuring Danny Brown

Danny Brown

UK grime and dubstep artist Darq E Freaker teamed up with the esteemed Danny Brown for "Blueberry (Pills & Cocaine)". The track is a banger to say the least, with Danny Brown's over-the-top personality and lifestyle taking center stage. Yoni Lappin directed the visuals, creating a perfect pairing to the hyphy, drugged out anthem that the two artists created.

I've really been enjoying the new trend of electronic producers linking with rappers, most notably fellow British producer Star Slinger, and "Blueberry (Pills & Cocaine)" is a great addition to the slew of recent releases.

[Mixtape] Asaad: #WHITE

Another project that dropped on 4/20 is Asaad's latest, a double disc entitled WHITE. The project features DMC members Walt Fraze and Wyo along with fellow Philly native Tayyib Ali. Production credits include Sunny Norway, Ben Pramuk, Nascent & QB, Problem among others. As typical of Asaad, the tracks are packed with references to the finer things in life, but the power of the music doesn't arise from the material items discussed, rather Asaad's reflections on life. As a rising artist to watch, #WHITE is not the project to pass up.

[Mixtape] The O'My's: Chicago Style

After hearing The O'My's singles off of Chicago Style, I couldn't wait to get my hands on the full project. Well it arrived on last Friday's joyous holiday (a possible reason for the late posting) and it's great. Produced and presented by Blended Babies with features from GLC, Chance the Rapper, and Kids These Days' Nico Segal and Greg Landfair Jr., the project is bursting with Chicago style. If you're a fan of jazzy and bluesy jams interspersed with some top notch hip hop, make sure to download Chicago Style below.
