Small Professor:

Small Professor: "Spare Razor" featuring Guilty Simpson & Reef The Lost Cause

Small Professor: "Spare Razor"

"Spare Razor" comes off of Small Professor's debut album Gigantic, Vol. 1, scheduled to release next Tuesday. For the track he enlisted the help of veterans Guilty Simpson and Reef The Lost Cause, of Random Axe and Army of the Pharaohs. "Spare Razor" is a warning to all punks and sh*theads, with the production complimenting the by the emcee's respective styles. Pretty much you should know that this track goes hard. Look for Gigantic, Vol. 1 next week.

Preston: "Sax Fifth" [#SaveMoney]

Cover

"On 4th and inches I never kick it, I keep it"

Damn, it seems as if #SaveMoney just keeps growing grinding. Here is a new track from Preston, titled "Sax Fifth", and it's one hell of an introduction to the latest member to emerge from the young Chicago clique. Preston goes in over airy, tripped out beat (of unknown origins unfortunately) and throughout the song, grabbing quotables is easy. He joins the ranks with Chance the Rapper, Caleb James, Vic Mensa, Kids These Days as well as numerous other musical and visual artists. Between 2008ighties, Savemoney, and every other young Chicago artist and crew, 2012 will continue to be an exciting year.

Rob Menace: "My Life"

Rob Menace might not have a catalog like some of the other young Chicago MC's, but the love for the music is undoubtably there. "My Life" is his strongest track to date, dealing with some serious events that have shaped his life so far. Check it below and look for more in the near future.

[Mixtape] ATG: The Susan Sarandon Story

The Susan Sarandon Story may seem like an odd name for a mixtape, but ATG didn't think so. The mixtape features are numerous and impressive, ranging from West Coast MC's Fashawn and Planet Asia to East Coast artists Reks, Termanology, CurT@!n$, and Charmingly Ghetto, to name a few. Most of the tracks are original to the mixtape so no matter what it's called, just know it's dope.

Caleb James: "Like A Pimp"

The young #Savemoney crew is grinding hard; members include Chance The Rapper, Vic Mensa, and Kids These Days, as well as Caleb James. Last Friday they preformed at Chicago's Reggies' Rock Club and overall their future looks extremely bright as they've captured the attention of the city's crop of young Hip Hop heads. Caleb James' latest track "Like A Pimp" witnesses the artist go balls deep over David Banner's pimptastic production, originally featuring Lil Flip. #Savemoney doin' big thangs.

[Video] Making of Theophilus London's "Big $pender" with A$AP Rocky

Making of "Big $pender"

New York has its fair share of dope artists and nearly all of them have their own unique flair. Both A$AP Rocky and Theophilus London are a little out there and both know a sh*tload about swag and style. So it isn't surprising then that when the two collide in the studio they make a song called "Big $pender". Theophilus actually premiered the track when he came to Chicago for the RE:MIX LAB fueled by the Hyundai Veloster, albeit without Rocky's verse. Now we get a glimpse of the two at work crafting the song in the studio. Can't wait to hear the CDQ of this one, included on his upcoming LOVERS HOLIDAY II: Rose Island.

Sound FX: "Ashley's Story"

"Ashley's Story", the latest track in Sound FX's march towards The Sunset LP, is the duo's third release of 2012. The song is about the trials of troubled youth, namely the struggles of young women in our society. The track is a follow up to "The Greatest" and "Type Love", both of which will be included on the project Things Fall ApartA Prelude to the Sunset LP. With both a mixtape and an album in the works, the early part of 2012 should see quite a bit from Sound FX.
