Craig Robinson: "Take Yo Panties Off" (feat. Snoop Dogg)

Early screening reports for This is the End have been overwhelmingly positive, and as one of my Top 10 Summer Movies, I'm super excited to hear that about the film. Today, the only original song from the Seth Rogen (Superbad) and Evan Goldberg (Superbad) directorial debut film was released. "Take Yo Panties Off" has Craig Robinson singing R&B-inspired verses for the ladies to be freed of their undergarments with Snoop Dogg delivering a feature verse as well. Fans of The Office know that Robinson, a Chicago native, isn't a stranger to musical ventures as his character on the show was prone to delivering jingles on a various amount of instruments.

You can listen to "Take To Panties Off" below and also check out the character posters for each main character in the film. This is the End will end the wait for its theatrical release on June 14th.

Google Adds New Video Features to YouTube Videos

Heads up, aspiring filmmakers: Google and YouTube have now made it easier for you to achieve your dreams. Yesterday, YouTube announced their addition of "enhancement" features for uploaded videos. They used slow-motion as the highlighted feature for the announcement. Now, those uploading their videos to YouTube can create slow-motion videos using the editor to slow down speed to 1/8th the normal speed. Other features include color/brightness correction, stabilization, color filters, clip trimming, and face blurring.

What do you all think about this? Personally, I prefer when filmmakers and video editors do their work through proper post-production avenues, such as Final Cut or Adobe Premiere. At the same time, this could help aspiring videographers who might now have access to or knowledge of FCP and Premiere. One thing's for sure: The amount of funny slow-motion videos will grow exponentially.

[RH Photos] Impolite Society (Live at Double Door 5/24/2013)

A few days after Impolite Society dropped their summer honeydip anthem "Player Shit," they took to the stage at the Double Door with an energetic set. Each member of the group, consisting of ELEE X, Blakkass Westley, Khalfani, and Sidewalk Kal (with Fess Grandiose DJing and taking a turn at the mic), took turns trading verses in front of a well-sized audience. Nothing beats seeing ImSo live as each rapper displays their contrasting styles, both in stage presence and lyrical delivery/content.

If you haven't seen Impolite Society live, you can catch them at the Tonic Room tomorrow with Second City Citizens, Epic, Moore + Watch City, Matt Black + MC Friendly, with DJ Elliven spinning throughout the night. Information for the show is here.

Alex Wiley

[Video] Alex Wiley: "Earfucked"

June 4th is coming up soon, and with that, Alex Wiley's debut Club Wiley with our homies, Closed Sessions. With hip hop circles amped for the mixtape drop, Wiley and released the video for "Earfucked" today. Directed by ENDOCOLOR, the video features the rapper engulfed in a smoke-filled room, Super Soakers filled with 40s, car donuts in an empty parking lot, shenanigans in a baseball field, and paintballs shot at statue busts.

You can check the video out for "Earfucked" below. Closed Sessions and Alex Wiley also created a 3D flash viewer of the Club Wiley package, complete with the front and back covers, inside flap, and CD, which was a cool touch to enhance the mixtape's release. Reminder: Club Wiley drops on June 4th with the release party happening on June 6th. Details for the party are here.

[Mixtape] Shintendo64: "TERRABYTZ"

Shintendo64, the artist formerly known as Shonen Domo, has come out to share a collection of songs to whet listeners' appetites as he prepares his next formal mixtape, The Terra GodTERRABYTZ is a mix of in-house and industry beats made with the dudes in the TERRA 5 COLLECTIVE. It's been awhile since Shintendo64 was on Ruby Hornet, but the wait was definitely well worth it.

Through my first listen of TERRABYTZ, I was reminded of vintage MF DOOM with the samples of old cartoons scattered through a few tracks (ex: "Undefeated School of the East"). "Hold the Microphone" also reminded me a bit of Binary Star's "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings," so anything that reminds me of the late '90s group is always a good thing in my book.

Be sure to stream and download TERRABYTZ below.

A library of songs that I've done with my brothers from the TERRA 5 COLLECTIVE. In house and Industry beats were used to create this mixtape. TERRABYTZ is the appetizer compilation before Shintendo's next mixtape The Terra God,set to release sometime before fall.

Sam Mendes Will Direct Bond 24 After All

After almost two weeks of rumors and speculation, the smoke has cleared and only one director has emerged from the ruckus. Yesterday, huge rumors came out that numerous directors were named to take on Mendes' vacated director role, including Nicolas Winding Refn, Ang Lee, David Yates, and Tom Hooper. This news itself came out in the wake of news that Bond producers tapped Inception director Christopher Nolan for the position a week and a half ago.

Now, Deadline has reported that Sam Mendes is going to come back after all. The Skyfall director will still go through with his stage production commitments, including the musical adaptation of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and King Lear. Sony, MGM, and EON are willing to wait for the director, as well, as I mentioned yesterday with their decision to move the 24th Bond film as far back as 2016.

This is how Hollywood works, guys, with hearsay and layers of rumors. Hopefully, the Bond franchise can stabilize now that they have a guaranteed director now.

New Directors Added into the James Bond 24 Mix

A little more than a week ago, we heard rumors that The Dark Knight Rises director Christopher Nolan was in preliminary talks with Sony to direct the next James Bond film. However, as I indicated in the post, some obstacles could prevent the dream pairing. It appears that Sony, MGM, and EON have realized that the reality of Nolan directing Bond 24 might be little more than wishful thinking as Collider reports that extra names are being considered for the position.

The names that have begun to pop up throughout the day include Nicolas Winding Refn (Only God Forgives), Tom Hooper (Les Miserables), Ang Lee (Life of Pi), David Yates (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows), and Shane Black (Iron Man 3). Each director has a distinct directing style that could take the James Bond franchise in an interesting direction, but talks are still really early, and changes can still be made. For example, a general 2014 target date for the next Bond film has been eased as EON and Sony are looking as far away as 2016 for a release.

Personally, I think the director (outside of Nolan) that could fit the James Bond vibe would be Black. However, with rumors that he's committing to the Doc Samson film adaptation as his next project, it seems unlikely that he'll be sitting in the Bond director chair. We'll see how this story progresses.
