The Skwod: "The Path"

This project is very impressive from what I've heard so far. The flows from both JaeOneder and Ka'Ron mix perfectly with superb production from SC (and Jae). Clever lyrics littered throughout and the periodic catchy choruses make for some ill tracks. The Skwod makes a big push in the right direction, telling the story of how they got on the path from where they've been to where they're going. Cop the album below.

Edit: Forgot how good Macstroll ft. GLC is

Chris Harris: "I Go Off" Track and Video

I love listening to a good, new artist. Thank you, Chris Harris. CH hails from Brooklyn and he's just beginning to find himself out as an artist. "I Go Off" is the first material I've heard from him and I'm digging it. His combination of confidence and humbleness makes his lyrics very likable, giving us lines like:

"But who am I to go and be a preacher/Still a nobody, can't even get a feature"

I think CH will be getting some features in the near future. Cop the track and check out the video below.

Nottz & Asher Roth: "Dontcha Wanna Be (My Neighbor)" ft. Colin Munroe

This song reminds me of two things. The first of which is Mister Rogers and the second is Eric B. & Rakim's 1987 "I Know You Got Soul", more specifically the line "It ain't where you're from, It's where you're at".  Colin Munroe's smooth chorus echoes throughout the track. He sings"They say where you're going ain't always where you're from/Maybe someday you'll be my neighbor" which is fitting since Asher is from Morrisville, PA and Nottz is from Norfolk, VA. Geography is not the only thing that separates these places as they differ greatly economically and culturally. It's clear from the lyrics that Asher and Nottz grew up in dissimilar environments but here they are on the same track. Download the track below.

Gilbere Forte: "Dog Days Are Over" (Remix)

It's evident from some of Gilbere's past material that he has a broad taste for what he uses for beats. Regardless, he makes them all work. He already tackled "Alors on Danse" with Kanye and for his newest material, he's using the Yeasayer remix of Florence and the Machine's "Dog Days Are Over".  Between tracks like this and his more traditional beats like those found on his 87 Dreams, Gilbere is sure to attract plenty of listeners. Download the track below.
