Matt and Kim: "Cameras"
"No time for cameras, we'll just use our eyes instead"
And they're back...Here's Matt and Kim's "Cameras" from their upcoming album, Sidewalks, which is due out on November 2 on FaderLabel. The song has a feel similar to other music that you've likely heard by them like "Daylight" and "Good Ol' Fashion Nightmare". Download the song below.
Big Sean: Finally Famous Vol. 3 Mixtape
After many months of setbacks and delays, Big Sean's mixtape has arrived. There have been some leaks off of this album but now we have all 16 tracks and the very impressive list of features including Mike Posner, Chip Tha Ripper, Curren$y, Asher Roth, Bun B, Drake, and more. The mixtape is solid, especially some of the unreleased tracks. Sean hits hardest when he's not feeding his ego but instead let's himself really come through and talk about how his life has changed into being "Finally Famous". I'm not absolutely wowed by every track but I feel like Big Sean has sufficiently demonstrated that he's got what it takes to make some quality music. Cop the mixtape and check out the track listing below.
Loot: "Mad World" ft. Mistah Fab
We heard Rhymefest go over this mellow tune but now we've got NYC and the Bay Area colliding on a track that addresses contemporary issues over a very nicely Ralph Random chopped and screwed "Mad World". The sample is altered a bit further with the addition of a subtle but heavily distortioned guitar which gives the song an audible edge that is very fitting given the subject matter. You might also recognize the sample song because it was popularized (well, actually it was Gary Jules' cover of the Tears for Fears song) in the cult classic movie, Donnie Darko (in the last scene). This is the first leak off the soon to be mixtape album The Get You Some Project that is scheduled to be released this fall.
M-Dot: "Be Easy" ft. Torae, B.A.M., Chino XL, Lyric Jones
Finally...the B-side has dropped. The first single off of M-Dot's album, Run MPC, featured Masta Ace and was released a little more than a month ago. Now we get to see the feature heavy track with impressive verses and some awesome production. Run MPC drops tomorrow on Soulspazm. Get the track after the jump.
XV: "We Zonin'"
Vizzy's back after a successful tour with Donnis, Chiddy Bang, and 2AM Club with another leak from his DJ Ill Will and DJ Rockstar hosted mixtape, Vizzy Zone. I feel like I've been waiting for this mixtape forever but this leak gives me some hope. In the song, we find XV giving listeners an idea of what it's like to be in the "Vizzy Zone" and what it was like to get there. Seven produced the track and he impresses as usual. Cop the track below.
Skyzoo & !llmind: "Speakers on Blast"
As you'd expect from the title, there is only one way to listen to this song. This is the lead track off of Skyzoo & !llmind's Live From The Tape Deck album which is due in stores October 5th on Duck Down Music. Keep an eye out for the music video that should be arriving shortly. Check out and download the track below.
Marky: "Infinity" Video and Rest Stop Series Release
Marky continues to take us on the "Journey to Markyland" and he's dropping a lot of quality material. He's one of my top artists to watch in the near future. The video for "Infinity" can be found below as well as as download link for all three of his Rest Stop mixtapes which were put up on his blog yesterday. The download link also has some new material from the DC-based phenom.
QuEST: "If You Wanna"
I've been pretty busy today and I wasn't able to put up QuEST's song right at 6pm but here it is now. My bad.
QuEST sends this one out to "the broken hearts all over the world" as he takes a deep look into the thoughts and emotions behind the hurt. QuEST gets personal on this one. The track is full of heartfelt, understanding lyrics from a very talented artist. This track is . the latest single from his upcoming project The Reason: A Defense Mechanism. Download the track below.
